Ultraseal

Exall Group have completed a full waterproofing overlay to a weathered and failing asphalt flat roof at Ultraseal's commercial premises in Slough, Berkshire, across approximately 180m².

The existing asphalt roof had deteriorated significantly, presenting multiple large cracks throughout the surface and providing inadequate weather protection to the building below. Rather than a full strip and replacement, Exall Group specified a Sikaplan SGK single ply membrane overlay — a proven solution for failed asphalt substrates that delivers a fully warranted, high-performance waterproofing layer without the cost and disruption of a complete deck removal.

The Sikaplan SGK membrane was installed directly over the existing asphalt substrate, heat welded at all seams and fully adhered to create a continuous, watertight surface across the entire 180m² roof area. Sikaplan laminated trims were installed to all perimeter details, providing a clean, secure edge termination that fully integrates with the new membrane system.

New through wall parapet outlets were also installed throughout, replacing the existing drainage points and ensuring efficient water management across the roof surface.

All works were carried out to Sika's full specification, with full manufacturer warranty backing in place.
