Industrial buildings place greater demands on roofing than almost any other building type. Large uninterrupted roof spans, heavy plant and extraction equipment, constant operational activity below, and the commercial consequences of any unplanned downtime — these are the realities that make industrial roofing a specialist discipline, not a general one.

Our projects range from full asbestos cement roof removals and replacements on working warehouses to planned re-roofing programmes on occupied manufacturing facilities and emergency repairs on industrial estates.

We understand what industrial clients need: a contractor who can work around shift patterns and operational requirements, who manages their own health and safety rather than creating risk, who doesn't subcontract the actual roofing work to unknown operatives, and who delivers on time. For industrial buildings specifically, the most common roofing systems we install are composite insulated panels for new-build and full replacement projects, overcladding systems for refurbishment of existing profiled metal or asbestos roofs without a full strip-out, single ply membranes for flat or low-pitch sections, and standing seam aluminium for higher-specification industrial developments. Where asbestos cement sheets are present — which they are in a significant proportion of pre-2000 industrial buildings — we handle the full compliant removal and disposal before installing the new system.

GB Couriers' dispatch warehouse in Luton is a current example: full asbestos cement roof removal and replacement across 620m² with 80mm Trisomet composite cladding, factory assembled rooflights and Trimline guttering, all with a 20-year guarantee. Pimlico Plumbing's HQ in Lambeth is another — a failing single-skin roof replaced with an 80mm composite panel system on an operational commercial building with no disruption to the business below. Industrial roofing projects are assessed on site before any specification is agreed. We carry out a full condition survey, identify any asbestos-containing materials, confirm structural loadings and drainage requirements, and provide a written specification and fixed price before any work begins.
