AshZip
AshZip is the British engineered aluminium standing seam system from Ash & Lacy — a UK manufacturer with a strong reputation for technical performance, supply chain reliability and finish quality. AshZip is specified on commercial, industrial, education and public sector projects where a UK made standing seam system is required, often for procurement, sustainability or programme reasons.
Exall Group are approved AshZip installers, operating across London, Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire. Our directly employed teams have installed AshZip standing seam roofing on a range of commercial and industrial buildings — including a recent 660m² installation in Chertsey, Surrey. Approved installer status means the system is installed to Ash & Lacy's technical specification, with full manufacturer warranties on every qualifying project.
We work with the full AshZip range, including AZ400 and AZ500 profiles, stucco-embossed and smooth finishes, and bespoke colour requirements drawn from the Ash & Lacy palette. Panel widths up to 600mm and panel lengths cut to suit roof geometry are produced at the Ash & Lacy facility in the West Midlands — meaning shorter lead times on bespoke orders compared to imported systems.

Process
We visit site to assess the existing structure, loadings and drainage falls. For new builds, we work from drawings. We confirm the right AshZip profile, panel width, finish and fixing method before anything is ordered from Ash & Lacy.
AshZip systems require precise detailing at eaves, ridges, abutments and rooflights. We produce or review the technical drawings, agree the programme with your principal contractor or estates team, and place the manufacturing order with Ash & Lacy direct.
Our directly employed installation teams fit the system to Ash & Lacy's technical specification. We don't subcontract AshZip installs — the team on your roof are our own skilled engineers.
On completion, we carry out a full inspection, produce a completion report and register the warranty with Ash & Lacy directly. You receive manufacturer backed documentation from day one.
Frequently Asked Questions
AshZip approved installers are contractors who have been assessed by Ash & Lacy to install their aluminium standing seam systems to manufacturer specification. Only approved installers can offer the full AshZip manufacturer warranty. Exall Group hold approved installer status and operate across London and the South East.
Qualifying AshZip installations come with a 25 year manufacturer warranty on the system. This is only valid when the roof is installed by an approved contractor to Ash & Lacy's technical specification, which is why installer approval matters.
AshZip is manufactured in the West Midlands by Ash & Lacy, a long established British manufacturer. UK manufacture means shorter lead times on bespoke orders, lower transport carbon footprint, and supply chain resilience compared to imported systems — increasingly important on public sector and large commercial projects with Buy British or sustainability requirements built into procurement.
AshZip is specified across commercial, industrial, education, leisure and healthcare buildings. It's particularly well suited to large span roofs where a lightweight, durable, fully recyclable aluminium system is required, including projects with Building Regulations compliance requirements under Approved Document B.
In many cases yes. AshZip standing seam systems can be installed over existing metal or built-up felt roofing using a support rail system, which avoids the cost and disruption of a full strip. We carry out a structural assessment as part of our survey to confirm whether an over roofing approach is viable.
AshZip is available in stucco embossed and smooth finishes across a wide range of standard and bespoke colours from the Ash & Lacy palette. Panel widths up to 600mm and panel lengths cut to project specification are produced to order at the UK manufacturing facility.
Programme depends on roof area and complexity. A straightforward industrial unit of 1,000–2,000m² typically takes 4–6 weeks. We provide a detailed programme at tender stage.
