Gutter Cleaning
Blocked gutters are one of the most common and most preventable causes of commercial roof damage. When gutters overflow, water tracks back under flashings, saturates fascias, penetrates wall junctions and causes internal damage that costs significantly more to repair than the clean that would have prevented it. For commercial and industrial buildings, the scale of the problem is larger — longer gutter runs, more debris accumulation and higher consequences when drainage fails.
Exall Group carry out commercial gutter cleaning across London, Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire. We use our own MZ250 cherry picker for the majority of commercial cleans, which means we can reach gutters at height without scaffolding or additional access equipment — and without waiting on third-party hire. For larger industrial roofs and multi-bay buildings, we can combine gutter cleaning with a drone survey to inspect the full roof condition at the same visit.
We clear gutters of all debris — leaves, moss, silt and blockages — and flush downpipes to confirm free flow. Where we identify damage to gutters, brackets, outlets or downpipes during the clean, we report this and can carry out repairs as part of the same visit or a follow-up programme.
Gutter cleaning sits naturally alongside our general maintenance and condition survey services — most of our commercial clients include it as part of a planned maintenance programme rather than reacting when problems occur.
Our Process
We arrive on site with our own MZ250 cherry picker. No scaffolding, no third-party hire, no delays. We set up safely, establish exclusion zones and brief your site contact before work begins.
Working along the full gutter run, we remove all debris — leaves, moss, silt, bird matter and any other accumulated material. Gutters are cleared section by section to ensure nothing is missed.
All downpipes are flushed from top to bottom to confirm free flow and identify any blockages lower in the system. Blockages are cleared as part of the service.
On completion we inspect the full gutter system for damage — cracked sections, failed brackets, leaking joints and damaged outlets. Any defects found are photographed and reported. Repairs can be carried out at the same visit or scheduled separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
For most commercial buildings, twice a year is the minimum — typically autumn after leaf fall and spring after winter debris accumulation. Buildings surrounded by trees, flat-roofed buildings with parapet gutters and large industrial units with box gutters may need more frequent attention. We can advise on the right frequency for your specific building after an initial visit.
